About US

Rescue 100 Horses Foundation started on April 3rd, 2008 by 3 very passionate women and a dedicated group of volunteers in response to a call from the Alberta SPCA in regards to a large seizure of over 100 Arabian horses in Northern Alberta. Their desire to assist in providing the necessities of life for these distressed horses, their need to protect them, rehabilitate them and place them in loving forever homes, has led us to where we are today.

We are a Registered Non-Profit Charity

WHAT WE DO

We work with the Alberta SPCA to take horses from seizures and surrenders and provide them with everything they need to be rehabilitated and then place them into new forever loving homes

OUR MANDATE

Is to accept as many horses from ASPCA as we can accommodate and provide these animals with feed, veterinary care, supportive care (both mental and physical), a safe and secure facility to allow them to heal physically and emotionally, time, love, attention, respect, boundaries, and training or retraining.

HOW CAN YOU HELP

Head over to our DONATE page to find out more about volunteering, necessary

denoatable items, or to make a financial donation.

"Animals are the bridge between us and the beauty of all that is natural. They show us what's missing in our lives, and how to love ourselves more completely and unconditionally. They connect us  back to who we are, and to the purpose of why we're here."

-Trisha McCagh

The quote above is what has fuelled us over the past 11 years, and it will continue to lead us through the future. Even tho our volunteers have the biggest hearts, we can not help all. Rescue 100 Horses does not take any private surrenders and we do not purchase or "rescue" horses from situations such as kill pens, auctions or individuals. Every horse that comes into our care is treated as if they are our kids, and even tho you may see tears when they leave, We have and will always strive to find forever homes for each and every horse that comes our way.
